ABOUT THE SPEAKERS

William P. Held, MSPA
With over 20 years in the industry, Bill has consulted on the design, implementation, administration, and termination of retirement plans.  His experience includes the broad array of organizations from S&P 500 companies through small employers. It also includes familiarity with multiple employer plans. Bill also participates as a member of the ASPPA GAC DB subcommittee.

Michael W. Spaid, MSPA, QPA
Mike is an Actuary in Actuarial Group 2 of the Internal Revenue Service.  He routinely works on difficult and complex problems involving qualification under the Internal Revenue Code of pension and profit sharing plans.

He has a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Montana.  He is an ASA, EA, MAAA, and a MSPA.  He has served six years on the EA-2B exam writing committee and is currently Chairman.

In 1984 Mike learned that a friend of his from high school was studying to become an actuary.  When it was explained to him what an actuary was, Mike thought this must be the dullest profession ever.  Mike has worked in the pension field for 22 years.
